Health Minister Michael McGimpsey MLA has announced his proposals for health care reform in NI:
The proposals include a single Health and Social Care Board for Northern Ireland, replacing the existing four Boards, a regional Agency for Public Health and Social Wellbeing, and a single Patient Client Council for Northern Ireland, replacing the existing four Health and Social Service councils.

The latter proposal is very much in line with LTCANI’s submission to the Minister. The new bodies will have a clear duty to consult with those affected by their services, also very much in lines with LTCANI’s comments.
